Navigating insurance for a common interest community can be complex. Understanding the right coverage is critical to protecting the community, board members, and the overall financial stability of the association.
This course provides community managers and board members with a practical overview of the essential types of insurance every association should carry, including:
- Directors & Officers (D&O) liability
- Umbrella/excess liability
- Environmental and specialty coverages
Participants will learn what each policy covers, why it matters, common gaps in coverage, and how governing documents and state laws impact insurance requirements. We will also discuss real world claim scenarios, risk management strategies, and how proper insurance planning protects both the association’s assets and individual board members from personal liability.
Whether you are newly elected to the board or an experienced community manager, this session will help you make informed decisions, ask the right questions of your insurance professional, and ensure your community is properly protected.
***The next Homeowner Leaders' Forum will be immediately after the March Luncheon. These FREE interactive sessions allow Homeowner Leaders to discuss topics of interest and concern. Please plan to participate after each CAI monthly lunch. Homeowners do not need to attend the luncheon to come to the forum, but we would love to have you at both!***
Registration closes the Friday before the event at 5pm MST. The event begins at 11am with networking, lunch, and our presentation after.
